"Drugs are the enemies of ambition and hope - and when we fight against drugs we are fighting for the future." - Bob Riley
A BIT ABOUT US
Here at Project SAVE, we are dedicated to creating positive change in our community pertaining to one of the most pressing issues in our society today: substance abuse. By working with people affected by substance abuse, we hope to empower them so they have a voice and place in society. We strive to educate our community about prevention and recovery, as well as raise awareness for the this prevalent cause. Join us in eradicating the stigma-related obstacles of substance abuse to make our world a better place.

When scientists began to study addictive behavior in the 1930s, people addicted to drugs were thought to be morally flawed and lacking in willpower. Those views shaped society’s responses to drug abuse, treating it as a moral failing rather than a health problem, which led to an emphasis on punishment rather than prevention and treatment. The empowerment of substance abuse victims is incredibly important because it encourages social growth and advancement. According to Ministry Today, telltale signs of empowerment include confidence, authority, permission to fail, and recognition. The Shatterproof national organization supports the idea that by removing stigma and empowering victims of substance abuse, people with substance abuse disorders can get access to the evidence-based care that they really need and the world as a whole becomes a better place.

MISSION STATEMENT:
