The New Platform For Addiction: How To Identify Marijuana-Infused Edibles
You may have heard of marijuana consumption beyond the frontiers of weed or other traditional methods. Namely, the popularity of edibles, or food products that are laced with marijuana, is rapidly on the rise. Incorporated marijuana can be in anything from gummy bears to brownies, and each edible has a varying amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the chemical compound responsible for the 'euphoric high' felt after marijuana consumption.
Here are some tips for recognizing marijuana in edibles:
Look at the packaging
Many marijuana-infused edibles have distinct packaging because they regulations require for those products to have markings on them that mention marijuana.
Odor
Marijuana has a very distinct odor. If you notice that a certain food smells very different, use your best judgement.
Similar Names
Lots of edibles with marijuana laced in them have a slight variation to the common name. For example, Twix can become Twigz.
Always remember, if you do not think that a certain food looks right, trust your instinct in deciding whether it is safe or not.
